Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)
The school's Special Educational Needs policy identifies those children who need additional support. The school works with other agencies, such as Educational Psychology and Speech and Language Therapy, to ensure the necessary support is put in place.
Mrs Palmer is the Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and Pat Fowler is the governor with responsibility for special educational needs. If you would like to contact the SENCO, please make an appointment with the school office.
Learning Support Assistants are employed by the school and often support children with special educational needs.
A new Code of Practice was introduced in November 2001, which outlines the school's legal responsibility to children with additional educational needs. This legislation outlines three stages of concern.
